Mark was born in Scranton on 7/15/77 and has lived in Dunmore all of his life. HeI graduated from Dunmore High School, 1995 Class Vice President. He gave the Benediction at Graduation, and then proceeded to Marywood University until 1998. Mark was an illustration major there, no degree, and rarely went to class until he lost interest altogether. He had begun showing a proclivity toward drawing while in high school and when it came time to pick a major for college he chose fine art because that was the only class I had A’s in.
Mark’s first experience with painting was at age 2, when he clearly recalls getting yelled at by his aunt for painting bugs on her wall with her nail polishes.
Artists that he was drawn to (pun intended) included Bosch, Klimt, Picasso, Escher, modernists, etc.
Mark never really had any faith in ever being anything more than an amateur artist until he heard Johnny’s interview last year on WVIA. Since then MarkI has kind of been reborn into an obsessive nut that rarely thinks about anything other than drawing and painting.
